Kommersant, citing its own sources, said that Russian suppliers of electronic equipment fear that in August, with the start of seasonal demand, sellers from the EAEU will refuse to partners from Russia in shipments of equipment under the parallel import scheme.
Distributors and retailers told the publication that at the moment, sellers are shipping surplus goods to the Russian Federation through parallel imports. At the same time, in August, when demand increases, they may begin to refuse shipments to Russian companies, since there will be a shortage. In their opinion, the supply of electronics to Russia is under threat.
In turn, the commercial director of Holodilnik.ru, Alexei Pogudalov, said that at the moment there are no free reserves in the EAEU that can be sent to Russia without any problems. Intermediaries from third countries raise the cost of electronics, since “the Russian distributor will buy anything.”
He clarified that sellers would not sell equipment to Russia to their own detriment, trying to balance “between the need to provide goods to their countries and the desire to earn money.” In this regard, Russian players in this market are afraid that the equipment of the departed brands may not be enough.
