According to the newspaper “Kommersant”, during the debate in the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow, prosecutors requested five and a half years in prison for each of the two former Defense Ministry officers. Yuri Zdravilo, a former adviser to the Main Directorate of Armaments, and Vitaly Likuchev, a former adviser to the department for state defense procurement, were initially charged with receiving a large bribe.
According to investigators, they demanded 7.4 million rubles for general patronage from the head of NPP Rusbal CJSC, a company engaged in the production of camouflage equipment, including inflatable models of missiles, tanks and other equipment.
Lawyers for the accused repeatedly tried to achieve their release, but the gravity of the charges brought against the defendants outweighed all the arguments of the defense, including the reference to the violation of reasonable deadlines for the trial and the delay of the process.
