GK “Rusagro”, founded by former senator Vadim Moshkovich, agreed to buy control in the Nizhny Novgorod Fat and Oil Plant (NMGK Group), which produces Ryaba mayonnaise and Astoria sauces. About it informed Kommersant, citing sources.

Representatives of “Rusagro” confirmed “unofficially” that we are talking about the acquisition of 50% of NMGK from Russian shareholders. According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, since June 23, Yan Kubinsky, a top manager of the Solar Products holding, has become the general director of the production and commercial company (PKF) Profit, which owns NMGK enterprises. It is specified that Rusagro acquired part of the assets of this holding.

The deal is not yet closed, the integration may be completed before the end of the year, sources told the newspaper. According to Kommersant, the deal will allow the two companies to gain synergy in the fat and oil market, as well as enter new categories and markets. In particular, control over NMGK will allow Rusagro to increase its share in the mayonnaise market in Russia from 15% to 28%, as well as to occupy 33% of the market for consumer margarine and spreads.

Kommersant wrote in November 2022 that Rusagro was preparing to buy a stake from NMGK. NMGK has oil and fat plants in Nizhny Novgorod and Samara, as well as oil extraction plants in Uryupinsk and Sorochinsk. At the end of last year, Rusagro’s revenue increased by 8% to 240.23 billion rubles, EBITDA was at the level of 45.01 billion rubles.
