VTB Group earned 32 billion rubles in May. net profit – Kommersant

According to the results of five months of 2023, the net profit of the VTB Group, according to the IFRS report, amounted to 240.5 billion rubles, of which in May – 32 billion. Dmitry Pyanov, Deputy President and Chairman of the Board of the Bank, told reporters. At the same time, the top manager recalled that inorganic elements had a significant impact on the first quarter indicators, as well as on the results of April – the consolidation of the RNKB and the revaluation of assets against the background of the strengthening of freely convertible currencies. May’s net income, in turn, is free of such elements, Mr. Pyanov pointed out.

In January-May of this year, the return on the group’s capital amounted to 33%, the return on assets – 2.3%. Net interest income amounted to 297.3 billion rubles, fees – 78.3 billion. The bank spent 67.4 billion rubles on reserves over the same period, the cost of risk was 0.9%. “The achieved results allow us to fully confirm the optimistic forecasts for record profits and return on capital in the current year,” the top manager said. Based on previous statements, IFRS earnings expectations for 2023 fall within the range of RUB 327–400 billion.

The group’s retail loan portfolio has grown by 7.3% since the beginning of the year to RUB 6.0 trillion. The volume of loans to companies, taking into account currency adjustment, increased by 5% to 12.6 trillion rubles. At the same time, the share of non-performing loans in the total loan portfolio by the beginning of June amounted to 4.5% against 4.1% at the end of 2022. Accounts of clients (retail and corporate) increased by 6.4% since the beginning of the year, taking into account currency revaluation, to 19.9 trillion rubles. As of June 1, 2023, the capital adequacy ratio H1.0 was 9.3%, with the minimum allowable 8%.
