Klupov called volumetric detonating ammunition the most powerful weapon

Volumetric detonating (they are also thermobaric) bombs were first used when hitting the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Artemovsk (Bakhmut). The authoritative Telegram channel Fighterbomber wrote about this the day before. According to military expert, military intelligence veteran, Hero of Russia Colonel Rustem Klupov, the nature of hostilities in Ukraine is becoming more and more fierce, and more and more serious weapons are increasingly appearing on the battlefield.

According to experts, in Artemovsk, for strikes against the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they used not planning high-explosive bombs weighing 1,500 kg, but “long-awaited” volumetric detonating bombs, from which one cannot hide in a trench or dugout.

As military expert Rustem Klupov told MK, the so-called vacuum or volumetric detonating aerial bombs – ODAB really leave no chance of salvation.

“Volume-detonating ammunition, according to the damaging effect, is equated by some experts with nuclear weapons,” he said. – The essence lies in a volumetric explosion, as a result of which a fireball is formed, creating a high-pressure zone in the epicenter. No living organism can withstand such a sharp change in pressure. Buildings and capital structures are also destroyed.

The intelligence officer recalled that the Armed Forces of Ukraine created serious fortifications in Bakhmut, equipped basements, underground communications. And it is very difficult to knock out the enemy from such defensive structures.

– And due to the fact that Bakhmut is defended with stubbornness, weakly in keeping with sanity, there is nothing left but to use ever larger calibers and ammunition with stronger power … This is the tendency of this conflict. Pay attention to calibers 122 and 105 millimeters are no longer mentioned, calibers 152 and 155 have become something ordinary, at the same time, calibers 203 and 240 millimeters are being mentioned more and more. And now we have already lived up to volume-detonating ammunition, which have colossal destructive power.

According to Rustem Klupov, such ammunition cannot be used in cities where civilians live. However, there were no civilians left in Bakhmut.

– I am sure that before this decision was made, our guys were convinced that civilians would not suffer. Well, the call to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is brought to the attention of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by all possible means to stop resistance that no one needs. If they did not lay down their arms, they would be destroyed. But this is their choice.

The military expert recalled that volumetric detonating bombs were used in the Afghan war. Volumetric detonating ammunition was used to bombard mountain fortifications in the Panjshir Gorge. Our military could not occupy the gorge, pitted with underground caves and passages.
