According to Sokolov, “reviews from the front line” are positive: drones are easy to navigate, light, maneuverable and silent. “The devices are controlled in manual mode. The operator puts on special glasses and sees the whole picture of what is happening. The devices can both drop shells and work for direct destruction, ”said the Kirov governor.

Sokolov added that the first batch of drones has already been transferred to the army. Now there is an increase in their production in Kirov. According to him, the issue “is in the hundreds”, and in the future it is planned to reach “several thousand per month.”

At a meeting with graduates of military universities on June 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin declaredthat the supply of drones and robotic strike systems to the Russian troops will continue, their mass production will be accelerated in the country.

At the end of December 2022 Putin approved a list of instructions for the development of unmanned aerial systems in Russia. In particular, by June of this year, the government had to approve a strategy for the development of unmanned aircraft in the country for the period up to 2030 and for the future up to 2035, which should identify priority areas for the development of unmanned aircraft, the parameters of this market, annual development targets unmanned aircraft, as well as a list of ongoing activities, the volume and sources of their funding.

The measures enshrined in the strategy, among other things, are aimed at developing the serial production of unmanned aerial systems and their components, increasing the level of localization of the production of unmanned aerial vehicles, training the necessary personnel, etc.
