Kiriyenko: NATO will fight against Russia “until the last Ukrainian”

NATO will fight on the territory of Ukraine against Russia “to the last Ukrainian.” This statement was made by the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko during the opening ceremony of the forum of young political scientists of Russia “Digoria”.
Kiriyenko accused the Ukrainian leadership of “giving away their country, their territory and, worst of all, their people to use.” He stressed that Russia “is not at war with Ukraine and not with Ukrainians.” According to him, the NATO bloc opposes Russia “on the territory of Ukraine and with the hands of Ukrainians.”
“Of course, NATO will be happy to fight, as they themselves do not hesitate to say, against Russia to the last Ukrainian, it’s not a pity, after all,” said Kiriyenko (quote by TASS).
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals.
Western countries, in turn, began to exert not only economic pressure on Russia, but also military assistance to Ukraine. This week, the Pentagon announced the allocation of a new $1 billion military assistance package to Ukraine. The new package will include, among other things, ammunition for the HIMARS MLRS and NASAMS air defense.
The US administration’s decision was criticized by Ambassador Anatoly Antonov. According to him, Washington “continues to add fuel to the fire” and is not going to contribute to a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also said that by pumping weapons to Ukraine, Western countries do not allow it to take constructive steps and do not allow it to negotiate with Russia.
