First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko visited the Zaporozhye NPP, where he checked the operation and safety of the plant, informed Chairman of the movement “We are together with Russia” Vladimir Rogov in his Telegram channel.

“Most attention was paid to the issues of ensuring the safety of the plant, as well as to the measures that have been taken to improve the reliability and performance of the nuclear power plant,” he wrote.

In addition, Kiriyenko checked the working conditions for the NPP employees, who, as Rogov recalled, had previously officially switched to work in “Rosatom“.

Russia has controlled the ZNPP since the end of February. In early October, after the Zaporozhye region became part of Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to take the plant facilities into federal ownership and create the Zaporozhye NPP FSUE to ensure the safety of nuclear facilities.

The city of Energodar, as well as the ZNPP located in it, are regularly shelled by the Ukrainian army. The head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, called for an immediate end to the shelling of the station and stepped up contacts with the Russian and Ukrainian sides in order to agree on the creation of a safe zone around the ZNPP. Last week, Chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov declaredthat, against the backdrop of almost daily shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, only the actions of Russian forces can keep the facility safe.
