North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sent congratulations to current President Vladimir Putin on his victory in the Russian presidential election. About it reported Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). “On March 18, the Chairman of State Affairs of the DPRK, Comrade Kim Jong-un, congratulated Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin on his re-election as President of the Russian Federation,” KCNA reported.
According to the Central Election Commission, after processing 99.52% of the protocols in the presidential elections, Vladimir Putin (self-nominated) received 87.33% of the votes. His opponent Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) scored 4.30%, Vladislav Davankov (New People) – 3.81%, Leonid Slutsky (LDPR) – 3.20%. According to data from 18:00 Moscow time, turnout in all regions was 74.22%.
Vladimir Putin has already begun to be congratulated on his victory: President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon congratulated him with a “confident victory” in the presidential elections. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro also sent a congratulatory telegram, in which it was said about “recognition of the glorious Russian people for their deep commitment to democracy, which was expressed in their large-scale participation in the elections.”
