According to the Deputy Prime Minister, one North Korean tiler is able to replace two or three Russian ones, as they work 2.5 times faster. “They are [северокорейцы]of course, very good workers, but they are very closed,” Khusnullin said.
He also said that historically Russia has focused on workers from the CIS market, but has never considered more distant markets. Now, the politician says, a center has been created in Uzbekistan to attract labor migrants. Hiring workers from the local population, he adds, will be more expensive, which in the end “will lie in the cost of construction and in the cost of operation.”
July 1 became knownthat, according to researchers from the RANEPA, sanctions, the withdrawal of foreign companies and the resulting crisis trends in the Russian economy did not lead to an outflow of labor migrants from Russia. Thus, as of May 1, 2022, there were 3.35 million labor migrants in Russia, which is only 18% less than in pre-pandemic 2019, and a quarter more than in 2021 on the same date. At the same time, the number of labor migrants did not show sharp reductions and did not fall below 3 million people since the beginning of the special operation, the study notes.
