Residents of Mariupol are returning to the city, the economy is reviving, the level of employment is growing, said Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin.

“Specially walked through the streets of the city. It can be seen that people are returning, peaceful life is being established, the economy is reviving – both small enterprises and large industries are starting to work, the level of employment of the local population is increasing, – wrote Deputy Prime Minister in his Telegram channel.

Khusnullin also said that he appreciated the assortment in Mariupol stores. In local cafes, according to him, there are more people.

The Deputy Prime Minister reminded that he visits new regions of Russia once a month. During a trip to Mariupol, he spoke about the preparation of the city for September 1. According to Khusnullin, 14,000 schoolchildren will begin the school year this year, which is 4,000 children more than in the fall of 2022. So, in the Nevsky microdistrict, where the deputy chairman visited, a school for 1,100 students was built.

On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the annexation of the regions to Russia. Putin stressed that the inhabitants of the annexed territories “become citizens of the Russian Federation forever.”

In January, the president instructed the government to speed up work to improve living standards in the new regions. In early February, Putin again called for bringing the regions up to the all-Russian indicators within the horizon of the current decade. During his address to the Federal Assembly, the President promised to build up a large-scale program of socio-economic recovery and development of new regions of the Russian Federation.
