33 state-owned companies and about 50,000 builders are participating in the restoration work of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Kharkov regions, reported Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin on the occasion of the Day of Reunification of New Regions with the Russian Federation.

“We literally help the whole country! 33 state-owned companies, eight federal customers, 82 regional leaders and about 50,000 builders are participating in the restoration work,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.

The Deputy Prime Minister recalled that to integrate new regions, a program for their socio-economic development was developed, which included about 300 priority activities.

Earlier in March, First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Construction Alexander Lomakin saidthat to restore new regions in 2023, 48,000 construction workers will be needed.

In the fall of 2022, following the results of referendums, the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions became part of Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that residents of the annexed territories “become citizens of the Russian Federation forever.” In January, the head of state instructed the government to speed up work to improve living standards in the new regions. Later, he called for bringing the regions to the national level within the current decade.

During his address to the Federal Assembly in February 2023, Putin promised to build up a large-scale program of socio-economic restoration and development of new territories of Russia. On September 28 of this year, the president signed a law on celebrating September 30 as the Day of Reunification of New Regions with Russia. According to it, it is proposed to equate the day of annexation of regions with the days of military glory.
