Kazakhstan is going to liquidate the trade representation in Russia

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan has prepared a draft document on the liquidation of the country’s trade mission in Russia. The document has been submitted for public discussion at portal “Open NPA”. The discussion of the document will last two weeks.
“To liquidate the state institution “Trade Representation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation” of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the draft resolution says.
According to the document, the order of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan dated January 24, 2023 became the basis for the liquidation of the representative office. The text of the order has not been published.
Russia and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on the establishment of representative offices in October 1992. The document was ratified in 2012. In Russia, the trade representation of Kazakhstan was opened in 2009. It is located in Moscow, there is also a representative office in Kazan.
The Trade Representation helps Kazakhstani exporters and distributors to work on the Russian market and attract foreign investments to Kazakhstan. Now the duties of a sales representative are performed by Damir Adilbekov.
