Russia and Kazakhstan have agreed on the technical feasibility of transporting Kazakh oil to Germany via the Druzhba main oil pipeline in 2024. Up to 1.2 million tons of oil will be sent to Germany, according to previous agreements, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan told Interfax.

In December 2022, Kaztransoil received an application to transport 1.2 million tons of oil in 2023 through the Transneft system to the Adam’s Gate delivery point (Poland) for further transportation to Germany. The Kazakh operator delivered the first batch of oil in the amount of 20 thousand tons to Germany in February 2023.

In September, the Russian PJSC Transneft and Kaztransoil signed oil transit agreement in 2024. Later the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan reported about plans to increase oil supplies to Germany to 2 million tons per year.
