Karabakh armed forces handed over more than 57 million ammunition

The armed forces of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), the decree on the self-dissolution of which was signed at the end of September, surrendered 79 units of armored vehicles, more than 7,000 units of small arms, as well as 57.6 million ammunition. “As of October 3, the following were taken into account: 79 units of armored vehicles, 93 units of automotive vehicles, 113 units of air defense equipment, 96 units of field artillery guns, MLRS and mortars, 1 unit of UAV, more than 7 thousand units of small arms and anti-tank weapons, about 57.6 million ammunition,” the report said.

With the participation of Russian peacekeepers, the Ministry of Defense added, work is also being carried out to restore gas supply to the region. No ceasefire violations were recorded in the area of ​​responsibility of Russian fighters.

On September 19, Azerbaijan began military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh. The next day, Karabakh authorities announced the conclusion of agreements on a complete ceasefire. After negotiations, the authorities of the unrecognized republic agreed to surrender their weapons under the control of Russian peacekeepers. On September 28, the president of the unrecognized republic, Samvel Shahramanyan, signed a decree on the termination of its existence from January 1, 2024 and the dissolution of all government institutions and organizations.

On September 29, Armenia filed a lawsuit with the International Court of Justice against Azerbaijan over alleged discrimination in Nagorno-Karabakh. Yerevan demanded that Baku refrain from violating the convention, actions that would lead to the displacement of the remaining ethnic Armenians from Karabakh, and also asked for the withdrawal of military personnel from civilian objects in Karabakh.
