Kadyrov was awarded a medal for his contribution to the development of the Kurchatov Institute

President of the Kurchatov Institute Mikhail Kovalchuk awarded the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov with a medal named after IV Kurchatov for his “outstanding contribution to the development” of the institute. The head of the region announced this in his Telegram channel.
The National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute” was founded in 1943. Among the main activities of the institute are the study of nuclear energy, controlled thermonuclear fusion, plasma processes, low and medium energy nuclear physics, solid state physics and superconductivity.
Mr. Kovalchuk presented the medal to the head of Chechnya during his visit to Grozny. He arrived in the capital of the republic together with delegates from the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and the Kurchatov Institute. Among them, in particular, were Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladislav Panchenko and Director of the Kurchatov Institute Marat Kambolov.
According to the head of the republic, during the trip, Mr. Kovalchuk highly appreciated the activities of Chechen universities, including the Grozny State Oil Technical University named after Academician M.D. Millionshchikov and Chechen State University named after A. A. Kadyrov. Following the meeting, the Chechen authorities agreed with the delegates to “cooperate more actively in a number of key areas,” Ramzan Kadyrov wrote.
