The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that although he has the right to run in the presidential elections in Russia, he will never do so. He wished a long reign to the current head of state, Vladimir Putin, and promised to help him.
“I am a citizen of Russia, I have the right (to run for president.— “b”). Others can, Chechens can’t, or what? Can. But I will never do this… Especially the state, which was ruled by a wise, far-sighted, strong man, talented, honest, decent… After such a thing, it is almost impossible to lead, to govern the country,” Mr. Kadyrov said in a direct line with the inhabitants of the republic, answering a question about rumors about his possible nomination for the presidency of the Russian Federation.
In January last year, Ramzan Kadyrov declaredthat he does not see himself as either the president of Russia, or a minister, or in any other position at the federal level.
