Kadyrov estimated the value of a horse stolen in the Czech Republic at $10 million

A horse named Zazu stolen in the Czech Republic, which previously belonged to the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, is worth at least $10 million, and not $18,000, as announced, the head of the republic said on his Telegram channel. According to the police, the horse was abducted in the village of Krabchitse on the night of March 3-4.

After Kadyrov was included in the sanctions list in 2014, his horse also became a “victim” of restrictions, the politician explained.

“Today it turns out that Zazu was stolen by unknown persons. How did this become possible? Was he being kept on some remote farm so they could pick him up so easily? Where is the security? Where are the gallant police with democratically efficient and advanced investigative techniques?” Kadyrov said, adding that the police only found out about the theft a few days later.

He asked “not to underestimate the value” of his horse: the authorities estimated its value at $18,000, and such an artificial underestimation is most likely due to “some kind of financial fraud responsible for its maintenance and care.”

“Only a thoroughbred Zazu costs at least $10 million. Now, having found out its real price, someone will warm their hands well,” Kadyrov wrote.

In 2014, Kadyrov denounced the refusal of the German authorities to pay race winning prizes to his horses, Zazu and Dashing Home. “They say in Berlin that a horse, being a friend of man, is subject to the sanctions imposed on the owner and must respond like a man. Now Zazu, who won the hearts of millions of spectators with his bright victories in Dubai, Hong Kong, Cologne and Baden-Baden, is forced to sadly watch his peers, i.e. stallions, frolic in the stable yard, and gradually lose the skills of a horse,” he said. Kadyrov added that the German authorities would have to pay “millions of dollars in compensation for moral damage to stallions for their discrimination.”
