Jordan recalls its ambassador to Israel

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry has decided to recall its ambassador to Israel in protest against the ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip. reported Petra agency.

The Kingdom believes that the continuation of hostilities leads to the death of civilians and a humanitarian disaster, and also creates a threat of expansion of the conflict. The Jordanian Foreign Ministry will also inform Tel Aviv not to return its ambassador, who had previously left Amman, to the kingdom.

“The return of the ambassadors will be possible after Israel ends the war in Gaza and the humanitarian catastrophe it is causing, as well as all its restrictions that deprive Palestinians of their right to food, water, medicine and the right to live in security on their land,” the statement said.

Earlier on November 1, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry announced the start of the evacuation of its citizens from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah checkpoint on the border with Egypt. The Palestinian group Hamas has published lists of citizens who are allowed to leave the Gaza Strip through the Rafah checkpoint. Among them are citizens of Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Jordan, Finland, the Czech Republic and Japan. It was also reported that Palestinians with dual citizenship and employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and NGOs operating in Gaza will be able to leave Gaza.

On October 21, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced the inadmissibility of the resettlement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to the Sinai Peninsula.
