Japanese television channel NHK reported that Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has left his own Kochikai faction.
As the publication notes, this happened due to a scandal associated with many years of concealment of funds by party factions about “kickbacks” to deputies.
It is clarified that at first Kishida wanted to leave the post of head of the faction, but against the backdrop of the erupted scandal, he changed his mind and decided to leave the faction for reasons of an unprincipled and objective assessment of what was happening within the party.
“This scandal erupted over the money that politicians collect through receptions,” the TV channel emphasized.
