Japan to host online G7 summit in autumn

Japan will host an online G7 summit this fall. This was announced by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at a press conference following the EU-Japan summit in Brussels, writes TASS.
“This fall, I will host an online G7 summit, the main topic of which will be issues related to generative artificial intelligence. [ИИ]”, – said the Japanese prime minister. According to Kishida, the problems associated with the development of AI have become a serious challenge for the entire international community.
From May 19 to May 21 in Hiroshima (Japan) a summit of leaders of the G7 countries was held. As part of the meeting, new sanctions against Russia were announced, as well as new military aid packages for Ukraine. In particular, US President Joe Biden announced the allocation of a $375 million military assistance package to Ukraine, which included ammunition for HIMARS, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank missile systems, and others.
In addition, in their joint statement, the G7 countries declared their readiness to resist “economic coercion” from the PRC. At the same time, Biden later clarified that the G7 does not seek to “disengage from China”, but wants to “eliminate risk in its relations with China and diversify them.”
At the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs then declaredthat the result of the G7 summit was a set of anti-Russian and anti-Chinese statements. According to the department, the G7 “has turned into an incubator where, under the leadership of the Anglo-Saxons, destructive initiatives that undermine global stability are ripening.”
