Chinese businessman and founder of Alibaba Group Jack Ma visited the school he founded in his native Hangzhou on March 27, according to the South China Morning Post. There, he discussed teaching and cutting-edge technologies, including ChatGPT, with teachers and students. Ma also expressed hope that someday he would return to his former job as a teacher.

On March 27, Bloomberg released an article in which, citing sources, it claimed that the Chinese authorities several times asked Ma, who traveled the world, to return to the country. Initially, the article said that Ma did not agree to this proposal, but then edits were made about his visit to Hangzhou.
