Italy has suspended the Investor Visa for Italy program for citizens of Russia and Belarus. About it says on the website of the Ministry of Enterprises and “Made in Italy”.
“We hereby announce the suspension of the program for citizens of Russia and Belarus by order of the chairman of the committee dated 07/14/2023 in accordance with recommendation C (2022) 2028 of the European Union,” the program page says.
Investor Visa for Italy is a program for non-EU citizens who invest in strategic assets of the Italian economy. The visa is issued for two years. The program was launched in 2017.
Against the backdrop of the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, a number of European countries have suspended the issuance of Schengen visas to Russians. In addition, from September 12, 2022, the EU suspended the simplified visa regime with Russia.
From July 6, the Italian visa center in Moscow will not accepts documents from applicants from regions of Russia. Only residents of Moscow and the Moscow Region with permanent registration can apply to the visa center. For those who have temporary registration in the capital, the services of the center will not be available. Citizens with registration in other regions of Russia can apply to the Almaviva company or to the Italian visa center in St. Petersburg.
