Italian Defense Minister Crosetto called for a diplomatic resolution to the Ukrainian conflict
Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto called for an end to the conflict in Ukraine and the start of a negotiation process. At the same time, he emphasized that there is no need to stop supporting Kyiv; at the same time, it is necessary to look for political solutions to resolve the conflict.
“What cannot be achieved by military means <...> “can be achieved by opening a diplomatic and political front to try to achieve a result through peaceful negotiations,” said the head of the Italian military department.
It is worth noting that the Russian side has repeatedly stated that it is ready for negotiations on Ukraine, but it is in Kyiv that they refuse this. At a recent meeting of the Russian Ministry of Defense, President Vladimir Putin stated that if someone wants to negotiate, then Moscow is ready for this, but on its own terms.
In turn, at a recent press conference, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that the issue of negotiations with Russia is now not relevant.
