The largest Italian oil and gas company Eni is going to replace at least half of Russian gas before the upcoming winter period through alternative sources. This was announced by the head of Eni Claudio Descalzi.
“We plan to replace at least 50% of Russian gas supplies this winter, using our wide and diversified reserve base and longstanding relationships with producing countries,” the head of the oil and gas company said.
Earlier, Descalzi stated that it will be possible to completely replace all deliveries of Russian blue fuel only in 2.5-3 years.
According to the data provided by Eni, 13.33 billion cubic meters of natural gas were sold in the third quarter of this year, which is 22% lower compared to the same period last year. The reason for this was the low sales volumes throughout the country.
