Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that citizens and companies from friendly countries will have the opportunity to open accounts and deposits in Russian banks in a simplified manner. According to him, this should make it easier for foreigners to do business and travel.
“Foreign citizens will need to submit a package of necessary documents to a credit institution located in their country before entering Russia. Upon arrival, they will be able to make payments at our banks. Of course, this is much more convenient for everyone who comes to us – for tourists, entrepreneurs,” said Mr. Mishustin during the operational meetings with deputy prime ministers.
According to him, simplified registration of accounts and deposits will be available to citizens and businesses from 25 countries. Among them are Belarus, Kazakhstan, Brazil, India, China, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. The full list of countries has not yet been disclosed.
Mikhail Mishustin expressed hope that this measure will help improve interaction between the business communities of Russia and friendly countries.
