The Social Fund notes that the current indexation will affect more than 27 million pensioners – their income will increase by an average of 1.6 thousand rubles. As you know, payments to working elderly people have been stopped indexed to inflation since 2016.
It should be added here that some pensioners received pensions recalculated taking into account inflation back in December of last year. For December, as before, without an increase, and already indexed by 7.5% – for January. This applies to those veterans who receive payments from the 1st to the 8th of each month. For January, they received money between December 25 and December 29.
That part of non-working pensioners who receive pensions on their cards or through Russian Post branches after the 8th will receive payments, taking into account indexation for January, this month in their usual time frame.
Good news and an increase in the minimum wage by 18.5% since the beginning of the year. True, it is not necessary to link a significant increase in the minimum wage with an automatic increase in wages for all workers by 18.5%. According to experts, the minimum wage is an indicator below which an employer in Russia has no right to pay its employee. And even then, if he (the hired worker) works a full work week, 8 hours a day, does not violate production discipline and conscientiously fulfills his duties.
The increase in the minimum wage will directly affect 4.8 million people – such an army lives on the brink of poverty. But he doesn’t cross this dangerous line. Since the cost of living (LM) from next year is set at an average of 15 thousand 669 rubles, and the minimum wage is almost 4 thousand higher.
