IAEA Director General Grossi again called on Putin for restraint around the Zaporizhia NPP
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi once again, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, repeated his call for maximum military restraint around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
“He (Rafael Grossi – editor’s note) again repeated his call for maximum military restraint and strict adherence to the five basic principles established by the UN Security Council,” the organization said in a statement.
In addition, it is reported that the IAEA is still monitoring the personnel situation around the nuclear power plant. Grossi also stated that it is the personnel situation that plays a “vital role for the nuclear safety” of the facility.
The head of the IAEA visited Moscow on March 5, where he met with Vladimir Putin. He also had consultations with the Russian delegation headed by Rosatom General Director Alexei Likhachev.
