At the same time, he called on law enforcement agencies to conduct an objective investigation “without any political bias.”

The meeting on measures taken after the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall began with words of condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and victims. And thanks to those who saved people in the most difficult conditions. “In this difficult time, our society has shown an example of true solidarity, cohesion and mutual support,” Putin emphasized. According to him, those who planned this terrorist attack hoped to sow panic and discord, but were met with unity and determination to resist evil.

The president noted that the crime was committed by the hands of “radical Islamists, whose ideology the Islamic world itself has been fighting for centuries.” However, many questions remain, the answers to which must be obtained in the course of a professional, objective and politically non-partisan investigation. “For example: are radical and even terrorist Islamic organizations really interested in striking Russia, which today stands for a fair solution to the escalating Middle East conflict,” Putin doubted. He also does not understand: “how do radical Islamists, positioning themselves as devout Muslims and professing pure Islam, commit such atrocities and crimes during the holy month of Ramadan for all Muslims?”

According to the president, the more logical version is that “this atrocity is a link in a whole series of attempts by those who have been at war with our country since 2014.” Other links in the same chain are “attempts (by Ukrainian DRGs – MK) to enter and gain a foothold in our border territories,” “shelling of peaceful neighborhoods, civilian infrastructure facilities,” “missile strikes (APU) on the Crimean bridge and the peninsula itself.” “Bloody acts of intimidation, such as the terrorist attack committed in Moscow, quite logically fit into this series,” Putin believes. He also called for an answer to the question during the investigation: why did the terrorists try to go to Ukraine, who was waiting for them there? “We know by whose hands this atrocity was committed against Russia and its people. We are interested in who the customer is,” the president said. “It is clear that those who support the Kiev regime do not want to be accomplices of terror and sponsors of terrorism. But there are really a lot of questions,” he added.

The head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, made it clear that some of the questions had already been answered during the interrogations of four detained terrorists. All of them, according to him, admitted guilt and “spoke in detail about the customers and persons who assisted in the preparation of the terrorist attack.” However, Bastrykin said nothing about the customers.
