RIA Novosti: the head of the GUR Ukraine Budanov* directly supervised the operation against Shariy

Ukrainian special services are behind the attempted assassination of Ukrainian blogger Anatoly Shariy in Spain. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to a source.

According to him, Ukrainian agents recruited participants in the attempt on Shariy from among ethnic Ukrainians living in Spain and representatives of local criminals.

The source also added that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Kirill Budanov (included in the list of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation), was directly behind the attempted assassination of the blogger. Responsibility was planned to be placed on Russia.

It is also noted that the recruitment was carried out on behalf of the Russian special services. At the same time, Spanish law enforcement officers took an openly formal approach to the investigation into the circumstances of the attempt on Shariy’s life; they did not even go out to inspect the place.
