Expert Rahman: Macron’s statements on Ukraine are related to fear of Trump
An expert at the Eurasia Group analytical center, Mujtaba Rahman, said on social networks that French President Emmanuel Macron’s anti-Russian statements regarding Ukraine are related to his fear of Donald Trump’s possible victory in the elections in the United States of America.
According to him, the French President is currently driven by anxiety or fear because of three things.
“Firstly, because the front line in Ukraine may shift. Secondly, US support for Kyiv may end if Donald Trump is re-elected in November. Thirdly, the West is now heading towards a catastrophic defeat,” Rahman noted.
He clarified that Macron seeks to attract the attention of all European countries to the security of the European Union and force them to rely more on themselves. According to the expert, the French leader is especially concerned about German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who is not ready to lead his country into a new world without military protection from Washington.
