Citizens of the LPR and DPR will begin to receive Russian passports from the day the republics are admitted to the Russian Federation. At the same time, the citizenship of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics will cease to be valid from the day the subjects are admitted to the Russian Federation.

Earlier, the press service of the State Construction Committee reported that persons living in new territories and those who left for the Russian Federation will receive Russian citizenship when applying, as well as taking an oath.
In addition, citizens who live in the territories of the DPR, LPR, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions will automatically receive Russian citizenship. This will happen at the time the regions are admitted to the Russian Federation.
