According to the current formula for calculating pensions, the amount of payments depends not so much on the length of service as on the amount of the IPC. In an interview “Prime” Fatima Nogailiyeva, an assistant at the Department of Labor and Social Law at St Petersburg University, explained when an attempt to increase a pension through seniority backfires.

When the period of child care is included, 1.5 years from the total work experience will be deducted from the calculation.
