Bloomberg: The Houthis assured Russia and China that they would not attack their ships
The Houthis from the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement assured the Russian Federation and China that they would not attack their ships, Bloomberg writes. In addition, it is reported that ships of the two countries will be provided with unhindered passage through the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
Anonymous sources with access to the group told the agency that Russia and China “have reached an understanding with representatives of the Ansar Allah movement.” Allegedly, this happened after negotiations in Oman with the participation of diplomats from the two states and Mohammed Abdel Salam, who is one of the leaders of the Houthis.
According to this information, in exchange for the safe passage of the ships, Russia and China “undertook to protect the interests of the Yemeni movement” at the international level, including in the UN Security Council.
