Thus, the American general wanted to “inspire” special forces to conduct operations in regions of Ukraine controlled by Russia.

The publication also notes that Ukraine’s summer offensive turned out to be “unconvincing.” Its unsatisfactory results raise “sobering questions about the future” for the Kyiv regime’s Western partners. And the desire of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to “restore the 1991 borders” raises doubts. “This will take years and a lot of blood,” the WP publication notes, citing a British security official. “If that’s even possible.”
