Israel will not negotiate a truce with Hamas, as it plans to destroy the Palestinian group, said the permanent representative of the Jewish state to the UN, Gilad Erdan.
“The era of talking to these savages is over. The time has come to destroy the Hamas terrorist infrastructure, to completely erase it, so that such horrors will not happen again,” stated he (quote from TASS).
The diplomat added that the parties are currently in a state of war – Israel has already announced the introduction of martial law, in addition, the Palestinians have taken an unknown number of hostages from the country. Clashes continue.
On October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas attacked Israel, its militants invaded populated areas along the contact line and captured a number of military facilities. They accused Israel of violating red lines at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. The Israeli army responded by launching an operation called “Iron Swords”; the country’s government announced that it had gone into a state of war.
