The Israeli National Security Council under the Ministry of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs raised the level of danger for Israelis in the North Caucasus to the maximum after the events in Dagestan. Message published on the website of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The National Security Council and the Israeli Foreign Ministry are updating travel warnings to the region to the highest alert level, Level 4 (high immediate threat),” the statement said.
We are talking about the republics of Adygea, Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Kalmykia, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia-Alania, as well as the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories and the city of Mineralnye Vody.
The message urges people to avoid visiting these areas in the near future, and for those Israelis who are there to leave as soon as possible. The headquarters also recommends that all Israelis abroad remain vigilant, stay away from demonstrations and protests, and obey local security forces.
On October 29, a crowd of activists burst into Makhachkala airport as a flight from Israel arrived. The Investigative Committee for Dagestan opened a criminal case under Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Airport operations were paralyzed until midday on October 30. Detained 83 people who took part in the riots. The head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, said that calls for pogroms were spread using pro-Ukrainian Telegram channels.
