Israeli Ministry of Defense: Thousands of Hamas radicals have infiltrated the country

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that during the Palestinian Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, more than a thousand radicals infiltrated the country.

“On Saturday (October 7 – ed.) at seven in the morning, Hamas began a war against children, women and entire families. “Thousands of terrorists have crossed our southern border, firing thousands of missiles,” he said at a briefing with NATO defense ministers (quote according to RIA Novosti).

Galant noted that such actions have not occurred in Israel since 1945. He emphasized that after what happened, the country’s government intends to completely destroy Hamas.

On the morning of October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas began military operations against Israel. The militants attacked the army’s border units and freely entered Israeli populated areas, where they captured an unknown number of hostages, both military and civilian. The Israeli Army (IDF) responded by launching Operation Iron Swords, and the Israeli government announced that the country had entered a state of war.

According to the latest data, the number of victims of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has exceeded 2,400 people. In particular, the Israeli side reports 1,300 dead and 3,300 injured. Among the victims were four Russian citizens who also had Israeli citizenship. As a result of the response in the Gaza Strip, almost 1,200 people were killed and 5,600 were injured.

At the moment, the Russian mission to the Palestinian National Authority has received about 400 applications from Russians to evacuate from Palestine. This was reported to Vedomosti by the press secretary of the Russian diplomatic institution, Aliya Zaripova.
