The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will not leave the Gaza Strip until all hostages are returned to their homeland. This was announced by the country’s Defense Minister Yoav Galant, his words were reported by the Times of Israel newspaper.
He also noted that all further negotiations with Hamas militants will be conducted only in conditions of hostilities.
“We cannot stop the operation and the war in the Gaza Strip until we reach a situation where we return all the hostages home, because there are many more of us,” the publication quotes the head of the defense department as saying.
It is worth noting that before this, Galant stated that the humanitarian pause and ceasefire in order to free the hostages is a “short pause”, after which hostilities will begin in “intensive mode.” According to him, they can last at least another two months.
