The Israel Defense Forces intend to evacuate all people living in cities near the border with the Gaza Strip within 24 hours. This was stated by IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari, writes Haaretz.

“Our goal is to evacuate all residents of cities near the border with the Gaza Strip,” he said.

Fighting continues in the city of Kfar Aza, located near Gaza, Hagari said. According to him, Israeli army soldiers are “fighting heroically” to free hostages held by Hamas militants. More than 400 Palestinian militants have been killed and dozens more arrested, the IDF spokesman added.

Hagari said on October 7 that Hamas had taken Israelis hostage in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army will transfer four more divisions to the border with the Gaza Strip, he said.

On the morning of October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas began shelling Israel, calling it the military operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” – after the name of the mosque, which, according to the leader of the military wing of the movement, Mohammed ad-Deifo, was occupied by the Israeli side.

In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the military operation “Iron Swords”. On the morning of October 8, the Israeli army launched an artillery strike on Lebanon in response to Hezbollah’s mortar attack on the Mount Dov area in Israel. Sources from the Lebanese channel Al Mayadeen, which is close to Hezbollah, also confirmed that Hamas had captured 35 Israeli hostage soldiers in the Gaza Strip.

According to the latest media reports, which cite representatives of the Israeli Ministry of Health, the death toll as a result of the group’s massive attack on Israel exceeded 300 people, and more than 1,800 were injured.
