The Israeli government will soon receive for approval a historic agreement with Lebanon on maritime demarcation. This was announced by Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid.
He emphasized that this achievement will bring billions into the Israeli economy and make the country’s borders in the north stably secure.
The politician explained that the agreement fully complies with Israeli principles in the field of security and economy. Already on October 12, the narrow cabinet on security issues will receive a document for consideration. Then, at an extraordinary meeting, it must be approved by the government.
The fact that Lebanon is satisfied with the agreement reached was also reported in the office of President Michel Aoun.
At the beginning of August reportedthat Beirut did not accept Israel’s offer of mutual concessions on the delimitation of the maritime border. The Lebanese authorities were unwilling to give up part of Block 8 from the Lebanese Exclusive Economic Zone in exchange for Israel’s Qana gas field.
