The leader of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization banned in Russia, Abu al-Hasan al-Hashimi al-Kureishi, was killed, transmits Al Arabiya, citing an IS representative.
According to the publication, the ISIS leader was killed during the fighting. At the same time, the representative of the organization did not specify the place and time of his death. Al-Qureishi was called the “ISIS professor” because he was involved in education in the territories controlled by terrorists in Syria and Iraq.
The former leader of the organization, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashemi al-Kurashi, was eliminated in February of this year as a result of an operation by American special forces in Syrian Idlib. This was announced by US President Joe Biden. During the operation, the terrorist killed himself by detonating a bomb, which killed 12 more people, including his family.
Before him, the leader of ISIS was Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. In October 2019, then US President Donald Trump announced the elimination of al-Baghdadi during an American special operation. The President thanked Russia, Turkey, Syria and Iraq for their help in eliminating al-Baghdadi. According to Trump, Russia behaved well by letting US helicopters over the territory of Syria under its control to the place of the special operation.
