According to Reuters, senior adviser to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Sayed Razi Mousavi, was killed near the Syrian capital Damascus in an Israeli army strike.
As specified, Mousavi coordinated the military alliance between Iran and Syria; he was one of the most experienced guard advisers located in Damascus.
In particular, he was involved in financing, coordinating and organizing the transfer of weapons to Shiite proxy groups and Hezbollah militants along the Iran-Syria-Lebanon route.
Iran’s ambassador to Damascus, Hossein Akbari, notified Iranian state television that Mousavi had been appointed as a diplomat and was killed by missiles fired by Israeli forces. He also said that Israel would suffer for Mousavi’s murder.
“The usurper and savage Zionist regime will pay for this crime,” said a statement read on Iranian state television.
