The UN Security Council must take measures to disarm Israel, otherwise it will be “too late,” said Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.

Thus, the minister commented on recent statements by the Israeli Minister of Jerusalem and Heritage Affairs Amichai Eliyahu. In one of his interviews, he admitted dropping a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip, calling it “one of the possibilities.”

“The Israeli regime’s announcement of the use of the atomic bomb shows its inability to counter the resistance. The UNSC and the IAEA must act to disarm this barbaric apartheid regime. Tomorrow will be too late,” X Abdollahian wrote on the social network, adding that responsibility for “genocide” lies with the White House.

After the Israeli minister’s words, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Eliyahu’s words were “out of touch with reality.” The Prime Minister’s Office also announced the decision to suspend the official from participating in Cabinet meetings until further notice. Eliyahu himself said that the claims of a nuclear strike were “metaphorical.”

The minister’s statements also criticized representative of the Palestinian group Hamas, Hazem Qassem, calling them terrorism. And the Secretary General of the League of Arab States (LAS) Ahmed Aboul Gheit counted Eliyahu’s words are racist. He added that this is “the true face of the occupation government for all those who defend it in the West.”
