Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani warned the United States of a “strong blow,” Tasnim reports. Such consequences will occur if Washington does not ensure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

“Our advice to the Americans is to immediately end the war in the Gaza Strip and ensure a ceasefire, otherwise they will suffer greatly,” the minister said (quote according to Reuters).

Iran believes that the United States is taking a “military part” in the conflict, the publication notes. At the end of October, the President of the Republic Ebrahim Raisi on the social network X accused Israel of transition red lines and warned of retaliatory measures. He emphasized that Washington asks Iran “to do nothing, but continues to provide broad support to Israel.”

On October 16, Iran talked about the possibility of the emergence of “new battle fronts” in the event of an Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip, which could lead to “the fall of Israeli power and statehood.” The Minister of Economy and Industry of the Jewish State, Neil Barkat, in turn, threatened to strike Iran if the Hezbollah group, supported by the Islamic Republic, opens a “second front.” At the Iranian Foreign Ministry warnedthat if the US strikes Iran and its associated infrastructure, the response will “beyond all imagination.” Tehran “has defended the rights of Palestinians for 30 years and will continue to do so,” the department noted.

According to the latest data, about 11,000 people have been killed in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, most of whom are Palestinians. The UN has called the humanitarian situation in Gaza catastrophic due to constant shelling and a complete blockade of the strip.
