Investors are waiting for the Fed, ECB and the Bank of England to raise rates this week

The vast majority of investors expect the Fed to raise the rate by 0.25 percentage points to 4.5-4.75% on February 1, this outcome is predicted by 98.1% of traders, follows from the CME FedWatch Tool data. Only 1.9% of investors do not believe that the tightening of monetary policy will slow down and expect another step of 0.5 percentage points.

This week, February 2, rate decisions are also made by two key European central banks – the ECB and the Bank of England. And according to Reuters polls, both regulators will also raise base rates to 15-year highs – 2.5% (ECB) and 4% (BoE). The ECB will raise its base rate by at least another 0.5 percentage points to 3% at its meeting in the spring. The Bank of England will bring the rate to 4.25% and take a break in the tightening cycle.
