Investigative Committee reacted to the SBU accusations against the Russian journalist

The Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating the illegal prosecution of a Russian journalist by members of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), reported SC press office.
The Investigative Committee, as noted in the report, will establish specific SBU officials who made the decision to prosecute the Russian. Earlier today, the Ukrainian service announced that it had collected an evidence base on the Russian journalist of Komsomolskaya Pravda, Sergey Klyuchenkov (known under the pseudonym Sergey Mardan). According to the SBU, he allegedly called for “genocide of the Ukrainian people” and “campaigned for mass repressions” against Ukrainian citizens. Mardan has been charged in absentia under three articles of the country’s Criminal Code, and in Ukraine he faces up to eight years in prison.
In May, the SBU reported suspicion (Ukrainian equivalent of indictment) to members of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, who, after the start of a special military operation, supported the annexation of four new regions to Russia.
