The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia opened a criminal case on a terrorist attack after the destruction of the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station as a result of the shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported to Vedomosti in the department.

The case was initiated under paragraph “a, c”, part 2 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (a terrorist attack committed by a group of persons by prior agreement and causing significant property damage). The maximum penalty under the article is up to 20 years in prison.
The UK promised to establish the circumstances of the incident and the amount of damage.
Kakhovskaya HPP was fired upon around 2 am June 6th. As a result, the upper part of the HPP was destroyed, which caused an uncontrolled discharge of water. Ukraine blames Russia for what happened. The Kremlin rejects such statements. Earlier today, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov emphasizedthat what happened is a deliberate sabotage by the Ukrainian side “by order received from Kyiv.”
