Investigative Committee announced a life sentence to the military Armed Forces of Ukraine for killing residents in Mariupol

A serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murders of 14 residents in Mariupol, Vedomosti was told in the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.
The operator of the 36th separate marine brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valentin Vasilenko was found guilty of ill-treatment of the civilian population (part 1 of article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), as well as the murder of two or more persons committed by a group of persons, including against a minor, according to motives of political and ideological hatred (clauses “a”, “c”, “g”, “l” part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code).
The Supreme Court of the DPR found that on March 21, 2022, servicemen of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, having previously received an order “on the forcible retention of power in the territory of the city controlled by the Kiev regime”, shot six men.
On March 23 of the same year, the Ukrainian military, according to the statement of the Investigative Committee, shot down a civilian car, as a result of which six men, as well as a woman and a young child, were killed.
On September 4 this year, the Supreme Court of the DPR sentenced the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vitaly Prokopchuk to 25 years in a strict regime colony for shooting two civilians and injuring one resident in Mariupol. According to investigators, in the spring of last year, a military man shot three civilians with a light machine gun, two of whom died, one managed to survive.
