Interior Ministry puts three Ukrainian generals on the wanted list

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has put on the wanted list the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Kolesnik, as well as the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Lokota and the Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine Andriy Grishchenko. This follows from the materials of the departmental search base.

“Wanted under the article of the Criminal Code,” the cards of all three Ukrainian military leaders say.

Earlier in March, the Investigative Committee of Russia in absentia presented accusations against Kolesnik, Lokota and Grishchenko. According to investigators, over 500 civilians were killed and about 1,000 wounded as a result of their command of the fighting in the Donbass.

Yesterday, May 30, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation announced on the wanted list of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. In addition to Zaluzhny, Oleksandr Syrsky, commander of the ground forces of Ukraine, was also put on the wanted list. In December last year, the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against him and other representatives of the military leadership of Ukraine under Part 1 of Art. 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (cruel treatment of prisoners of war or civilians). The maximum penalty under the article is up to 20 years in prison.

According to investigators, during the organization of humanitarian corridors in Mariupol by the Russian military, the soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine “artificially created obstacles to the evacuation of the civilian population from the city.” As a result, civilians became a “target” for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which “killed them with various types of weapons,” the UK added.
